Leaf Exploration in Art

October’s maples are flaming torches lighting the way to winter.

First Grade explored contour lines in their environment in art class.

Contour lines are simple lines that show us the shape of an object. They looked at maple leaves from the tree in front of our school. They used water color paints to add bright colors. They used warm and cool colors in their art work. Warm colors are red, orange, yellow (like fire). Cool colors are blue, purple, green (like ice.) They connected warm and cool colors to the change in temperature outside.
